Maponics, an industry leader in the provision of location-based data, announced the launch today of its new Subdivision Boundaries product.
The company is immediately implementing plans for comprehensive U.S. coverage by mapping more than 500,000 subdivisions by the end of 2011. The application was developed for Maponics’ real estate industry customers who recognize that the immediate area surrounding properties significantly impacts quality of life and home values.
To date, the real estate industry has worked without reliable subdivision boundary data. Maponics’ patent-pending technology allows stakeholders to depend on the automation of such boundaries on a large scale. Combining GIS and public records, and through the application of complex metrics, highly accurate boundaries are the result.
Darrin Clement, the CEO of Maponics says, “We have a product called Neighborhood Boundaries that maps out city neighborhoods – Chinatown, Soho, etc.,” he says, “but our customers in real estate want to use this product like the neighborhood ones. If you’re looking for a home in a particular subdivision, it can help validate listings and improve search engine results.”
Clement goes on to discuss the competitive advantage that Subdivision Boundaries provides to Maponics, “The same way we were the first to define neighborhoods, this new product gives us market a leadership position and certifies us as a top tier player in geographies. It increases our product line in a way that is secure and defensible…Zip Code Boundaries, Neighborhood, School Attendance Boundaries. Now add in the subdivisions. When you think about that geostack, that’s pretty much it. All the spatial data one could need.”
